چکیده

Pre-thermal flow plays an important role in the final state evolution of heavy ion collisions at RHIC. We show that flow has universal features for a wide range of models. This significantly reduces the uncertainty in initializing hydrodynamic models at RHIC.

Freeze-out dynamics at RHIC

Investigation of the final hadronic state properties of ultrarelativistics pp and Au+Au collisions supplies information on freeze-out conditions at RHIC and possible insights into early stages of these collisions. A variety of particle spectra measured by STAR are studied within the framework of chemical and local kinetic equlibrium models. Here we present the extracted chemical and final kinet...

PHENIX Studies of the Scaling Properties of Elliptic Flow at RHIC

Recent PHENIX elliptic flow (v2) measurements for identified particles produced in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV are presented and compared to other RHIC measurements. They indicate universal scaling of v2 compatible with partonic collectivity leading to the flow of light, strange and heavy quarks with a common expansion velocity field.

Anisotropic flow of K's, K's, and Λ's is studied in heavy ion collisions at SPS and RHIC energies within the microscopic quark-gluon string model. At SPS energy the directed flow of kaons differs considerably at midrapidity from that of antikaons, while at RHIC energy kaon and antikaon flows coincide. The change is attributed to formation of dense meson-dominated matter at RHIC, where the diffe...

Differential elliptic flow prediction at the LHC from parton transport

Introduction. General physics arguments and calculations for a class of conformal field theories suggest [1, 2] that quantum effects impose a lower bound on transport coefficients. For example, the shear viscosity to entropy density ratio is above a small value η/s ∼ 0.1 (“most perfect fluid” limit). Dissipative effects can therefore never vanish in a finite, expanding system. On the other hand...

Relativistic Hydrodynamics at RHIC and LHC

Recent development of a hydrodynamic model is discussed by putting an emphasis on realistic treatment of the early and late stages in relativistic heavy ion collisions. The model, which incorporates a hydrodynamic description of the quark-gluon plasma with a kinetic approach of hadron cascades, is applied to analysis of elliptic flow data at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider energy. It is pre...
